Congratulations on your scholarship and being smart about managing your money! Here is a possible plan:
-Make a list or spreadsheet of your current monthly costs. Don’t forget to include annual, semi-annual or irregular costs such as renters insurance, travel, books, etc. by breaking them down on a monthly basis and including that cost in the list. Allow at least a few dollars (10 – 20% of the monthly total would be great) a month for savings in case of unplanned expenses, emergencies, etc. Additional suggestions can be found at http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/…
-research on http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/costofliv… http://relocationessentials.com/, http://epodunk.com/, http://monster.moving.com/relocation-cen… etc. to determine cost of living and other differences. Add or modify the monthly budget items from above to come up with a revised budget that reflects expected costs in Salt Lake.
Good Luck!
