How Much Lower Of The Price Do Car Dealers Would Accept To Sell The Car If We Bargain With Them?

Fοr аn example $14810 іѕ thе price fοr a honda civic coupe. Dο уου thіnk I саn ɡеt іt іf I bargain $13000? οr maybe саn іt bе lower?
AƖѕο, whаt ԁο people usually ԁο tο ɡеt thе car thеу want wіth cheaper price? Whаt’s thе strategy?
Thanks!

First off, I want to clarify that new cars do NOT have 20% mark up. Used cars have a higher margin, which can reach 20%. If they (new cars) did, then you wouldn’t be reading about how auto manufacturers are loosing money!
As far as your question, one person mentioned $500 over invoice (plus rebates). In most cases, this is a great way to go about negotiating. It lets the dealership make some front-end profit and you get a good deal on the car you want. Keep in mind that the hotter the car, the less likely they are to accept only $500, however it’s all about supply and demand.
If you want a cheaper price, you can try internet quotes, however most associates are trained not to give exact numbers unless you are in the dealership. Keep this in mind: The “Best Deal” is when you find the car YOU want at a price YOU can afford. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Look at edmunds.com or kbb.com for the new car price of the model you are looking into. Dealers do have wiggle room to a varying degree. Find out the invoice price of the car you are looking and try to get below that price. Also via edmunds.com and kbb.com you can request for internet price quote. Do your initial negotiation over email. That will save you time and hassle.

If you bargain with them and get them on a day where they are about to get other cars in from the action, then u will get a good price. Ask them when they get another shipment of cars, I did and I got them to drop my 2007 Dodge Caliber R/T with All wheel drive, leather and power everything (it is loaded!) from $17000 to $13995 and it was all because I came by on the day they were going ot get other cars in. You have to tuff. Make sure u tell them what u don’t like about the car, not what u like. Never make a happy face when u are looking to buy a car cause that is how they know they have you. Think like ur playing a game of pocker for $1 miilion dollars, straight face, head up, and firm hand shake. You are doing business, so act like it and don’t show them a thing they might take for their own benefit.
Here are pics. of my car if u care to look at my beautiful girl :) http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n147/…
Good Luck :)

For one thing is it a new or preowned/used civic? If its new ask for the invoice and offer 500.00 over invoice, if its used the general mark up in a vehicle is 2500.00 so offer them 12500 plus tax and fees that way you get a good deal and they make a fair profit.
