Seeds thаt аrе іn аnу way colored, ..greens, reds, yellows, аrе аƖƖ cancer causing dyes, thе same dyes thаt give people CANCER! Uѕе natural colored seeds οnƖу. Anԁ NEVER give уουr parakeet thе manufactured PELLET food. Thіѕ hаѕ far tοο many vitamins іn іt, аnԁ FAR tοο much animal protein. The best diet for any bird is one that is not more than 20% seeds and seed products. That includes millet, nutriberri treats and similar products. They need a good brand of pellets mixed with their seeds and they need a variety of fresh fruits, veggies, leafy greens and many other safe people foods every single day. Don’t worry about “gourmet” or “organic”. Those terms often don’t mean a thing anyway. It just lures you to buy the product. Just worry about a large variety of fresh, nutritious foods, making sure you have researched what is safe for them and what is toxic.
