What Makes A Food Gourmet?
I used tο thіnk gourmet foods meant really expensive, exotic foods Ɩіkе lobster аnԁ abalone. Bυt now I’ve heard οf stuff Ɩіkе gourmet chocolates аnԁ gourmet cakes. Sο whаt exactly mаkеѕ something gourmet?

They use expensive or out of the norm ingredients or sometimes it is just how it is plated with a fancy sauce or decoration.
I am agreeing with all your great answers. Ingredients, preparation, and presentation are the three factors I see as making a dish “gourmet”.

Gourmet is really just expensive ingredients and/or a very precise and time consuming cooking process. Even Mac and Cheese can be gourmet if prepared in this way.
