When you actually go to India, it is a lot different than America. Because for most goods and services that they buy have no set price, they tend to barter with each other to get the price lower. It’s pretty annoying but I don’t think they’re ever going to change. I think it’s funny though that Indians that come stateside and open up their own business, jack up their prices sky high because they know us Americans will pay the price for it.
search for an Indian-Canadian comedian named Russell Peters. In one of his stand-ups he gives a great perspective on how ‘cheap Indians’ compare to the Jews and Chinese. very funny stuff

I think negotiation is a great skill to have. If Indians are good at it then maybe we can learn something from them – and use it to get what you want. People all around the world do it, not just the Indians from India and a successful negotiation is one where both parties win – there’s a sale and a bargain. Sometimes one side gets the better end of the deal, but that’s life.
