You should know this will be a long, drawn-out process, so you better be sure you want to do the work. First, sit down and write down everything you spend money on a week, then analyze your behavior for a few weeks and see how much money you spend on everything. Decide what are necessities, and what can be given up, and act on what you decide to give up, or at least dramatically reduce the amount you buy. If your income doesn’t match what you still “have to” spend, then it’s time for another job. Also, the best plan is to have as much as a savings as you can possibly afford, because then you can call your creditors and settle by paying less than you owe, but you have to pay in full. Therefore, you’ll need to save all you can. Good luck. It gets easier with time.
Here’s a tip my mom gave me for paying off debt, it’s not a budget but it will help. Make a list of your credit bills, put them in order as to least owed to the most owed, then add up the minimum payment for the credit cards that you owe the most, pay the minimum on those and the card that you owe the least pay as much as you can. You’ll end up paying off a card. Then when that card is paid off you can go on to paying off the next lowest amount.
first make a summary how much do you need for monthly repayments of mortgage and credit cards, rent, electricity, water
Than make a budget for food per week (you can save much money of food if you cook and prepare healthy lunches and dinners at home ) for me living it is £25 per week (I live alone)
establish the amount what you need spend for cloth per month (for me £50) and for social life
regarding the petrol calculate the necessary amount for journey to work and back (you can do shopping on the way home so you save money on petrol if you do usually shopping during weekend) Think when you drive.
try to save some money from the rest for the worse time…you should have e.g. 3x mortgage repayment in your saving in case you lose your job and start to save money for Christmas since February e.g £20 per month
The most important is stick to the budget ..don’t buy a coffee when it means you’ll overspend you can buy it next week from from allowed budget.
I know it’s hard time for all of us
GOOD LUCK
In order to set up a budget, determine what your monthly income is and determine what you have to pay like rent, utilities, phone bill, and food. The rest of the money can be used to pay off your debt. If you are having trouble paying off the minimum, then try a debt consolidation loan or sign up for debt management program.
the best thing to do is to pay off all your debt instead of buyinh things you dont need. once a month on a paycheck its ok to spend it on things you personally want but for the remainder sent out payments so you can get out of debt. let me tell you after you pay off your debt you’ll feel a releif and it feels so good trust me i did it its hard b/c i love buying clothes but it wa all worht it

The Microsoft Office site has some blank budget templates you can start with.
Basically write down your income, your fixed expenses (loans, CC payments, mortgage/rent) then write down your variable expeness (groceries, gas, utilities, etc….) Then with whatever is left over decide how much you can send extra to your debt and if any is left over after that, then you can play some.
