I thing you should start checking around for a different type of heat. That is absolutely absurd for what you are paying. We heat with propane and it doubled last year but it is costing us $1200 for the whole year.
depending on the cost of oil per barrel (sweet crude) on the stock market,and demand make sure your furnace is cleaned and tuned etc.what is your thermostat set at? have your oil man check out your system your burning too much oil.
Hopefully it will be lower. I work for a fuel company and this is a popular question this past season with the pricing jumping high but now alot lower

Prices are based on the current and projected price of oil. Fuel oil is traded like every other commodity. Check with your supplier and other suppliers to compare price and delivery charge. Your monthly charge is outrageous. Seems your current supplier is raking you on delivery. Check your billing for usage, price and delivery charge.
